Ans. A ball and socket joint is a movable joint. It consists of a bone that has rounded head , which fits into a cup like depression of another bone. Example : Shoulder Joint and Hip Joints.
(b) Which of the skull bones are movable?
Ans. Only the lower jaw in skull is movable.
(c) Why can our elbow not move backwards?
Ans. Elbow joint is hinge joint which allows only back and forth movement. So we cannot move our elbow backward.
