The IMD World Competitiveness ranking ranks 64 economics and assesses the extent to which a country promotes the prosperity of its people by measuring economic well-being through hard data and survey responses from executives .

According to World economic forum , global competitiveness defined as the ” ability of a country to achieve sustained high rates of growth in gross domestic product per capita “

The most recent global competitiveness ranking was released in 2019 in the Global Competitiveness Index 4.0


  • First Edition  of Global Competitiveness Report was released in 1979 .
  • The Global Competitiveness Index has been paused in 2020.
  • India has secured a rank of 68 in the Global Competitiveness Index
  • 2019.
  • In the 2019 report , Singapore has topped ., US remained stable at tenth position and China is at 16th position.


The Global Competitiveness Report 2020 talks about the following things .

  2. Reviving and transforming human capital
  3. Reviving and transforming markets
  4. Reviving and transforming the innovation ecosystem
  5. Assessing readiness for economic transformation
  6. Assessing disruption and resilience through business sentiment.


ADI PRAKSHISHAN – Training for Tribals is an initiative to reach the remotest area using information technology .It has recently been launched by Ministry of Tribal Affairs . It is a unified open platform will give users access to authentic knowledge products.

Tribal Affairs Ministry has developed the portal in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme.


  • Its aim is to provide comprehensive information on training programmes held across the country.
  • Adi Prashikshan-Training for Tribals will make tribal communities able to have access to their rights and benefits. It is an effort to bring Training Institutions, Organizations, Experts and Trainers together.
  • Mr Munda has stressed on creating awareness among tribal communities of their rights and entitlements. He said, this requires extensive training and capacity building of tribal communities and different stakeholders.
  • The portal will have a database of trainees, trainers, and resource persons. Further, the trainees can have access to course material even after completion of the training programme from the portal.


Adi Prashikshan Portal will also act as a central repository of all training program conducted by Tribal Research Institute, different divisions of Ministry , national Society for Education of Tribal Students , Centre of Excellences funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs and national Tribal Research Institutes .

  • Emergency care support,

  • Medical equipment support.

The programme has been designed as a special programme under central component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0 with total financial outlay of Rs 276 Crore .
